Your appointment letter contains important information you will need to know in order to complete the new hire and benefits enrollment processes. So, make sure you have read it carefully!
The appointment letter will also provide you with the names of your supervisor, and your agency's Human Resource Benefits Representative (HR/Ben Rep). Your HR/Ben Rep will be (1) your primary point of contact for completing the new hire process; and, (2) the person you will need to contact for any future HR-related questions or concerns.
This orientation will provide you with an overview of the policies and procedures, and benefits offered by the state. It was designed to be viewed from the comfort of your home so that you can view the orientation at your own pace. The entire orientation will probably take over two hours to complete as we want to give you all of the information that you will need to make the most informed benefit decisions. The good news is that you can complete it all at once or only do a module at a time right in the convenience of your own home. Take advantage of the quick navigation tips that are provided for ease of use when you first enter the orientation.
Once you have completed the orientation, you will be required to submit your benefit elections and other related documents as part of the new hire and benefits enrollment processes to your agency's HR/Ben Rep.
Remember, completing the on-line orientation is the first, and one of the most important steps in your new hire orientation. The earlier you complete the orientation, the better!
On or before your first day of employment, you are required to bring a completed I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form, along with the required acceptable ID(s) (as listed on page 5) to your HR/Ben Rep. It's easy to do. You can print the I-9 form and related documentation which can be found on the NEO home page, Forms tab.
Remember, help is only a phone call away. Call your HR/Ben Rep if you have any problems or questions or email us.
